EBTEKAR analyzes the 17th Tehran International Press Festival which was concluded on Monday. The columnist says even though some foreign countries participated in the event, the pavilions did not manifest a lively atmosphere for exchange of views and experiences. One of the features which distinguished this exhibition from previous ones was constant visits to pavilions by the deputy culture minister for press affairs. The writer argues even though the bitter incidents that followed the last year’s presidential election has ended and calmness has prevailed some newspapers, news agencies and websites again touched those events and concentrated on political rift among principlists.
MARDOMSALARI in an article on the anniversary of the capture of the U.S. embassy in 1979 says those who seized the embassy had no role in the settlement of the hostage crisis. Its says Masoma Ebtekar, a translator of the hostage takers, had said the students were not involved in the release of hostages and that nobody consulted with them about issue.
